Overview
Background:
Sunsweet Growers has an immediate opening for a Mechanic in its year-round dried fruit and juice processing facility in Yuba City. Wage and benefit package is governed by a union labor agreement that provides for complete family medical and a defined pension benefit. Entry-level wage is $19.30 per hour and overtime is required. Purpose:
Responsible for the installation, modification, preventive maintenance, and repair of plant production and facility equipment Primary Duties:
Installs, repairs, and modifies plant production and facility equipment from engineering drawings and verbal instructions Troubleshoots, diagnoses, reports on, and corrects production and plant facility equipment malfunctions and breakdowns Performs initial and routine set-ups, adjustments, and repairs to maintain plant production equipment in proper operation Operates equipment as assigned to meet production requirements Performs preventive maintenance in compliance with established program requirements

Qualifications:
Must pass a mechanical aptitude and practical, hands-on test Must pass a pre-employment, post-offer background check, drug test, and physical examination Prefer 1-3 years of maintenance experience in an industrial environment Must be able to work overtime, all shifts, and weekends if required Must join the Teamsters Union.
Hourly rate:
$19.78 - $22.23.
