RN Labor and Delivery

Definition The staff RN is a registered nurse who assumes responsibility and accountability for the laboring patient, both before, during and after delivery.
The candidate utilizes their knowledge in fetal monitoring at the bedside and is able to recognize fetal well being and when the fetus is having any difficulties.
The RN is knowledgeable in the labor and delivery process.
The RN is instrumental in teaching and assisting the pt and family through this process.
The RN can assist the MD at bedside with a vaginal delivery and can act as circulator in the OR for c/sections, post partum tubal ligations and D&Cs.
The L&D RN also recovers the vaginal delivery patient and the cesarean section patient, while encouraging and reinforcing maternal infant bonding.
Specific clinical requirements per assigned unit as follows:
One year recent Labor and Delivery experience required BLS and ACLS required NRP required Advanced Fetal Monitor Certification required within 6 months

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
