Job Description:
The Licensed Vocational Nurse utilizes technical and manual skills under the direction of the Registered Nurse or a licensed physician in the assigned area.
Incumbent performs a wide range of patient care and duties throughout NCHCS.
The incumbent has the knowledge and skills to carry out nursing assignments for selected acute care, long term care, ambulatory care and psychiatric nursing care.
Competency will be validated during the orientation period, and as directed or annually thereafter.
, Position Requirements:
Graduate of a school of practical or vocational nursing approved by the appropriate state agency and/or accredited by the NLN at the time the program was completed by the applicant; or individuals granted licensure by jurisdiction that does not require graduation from an approved school.
Health care education in the military service or training in the military service which is accepted by the licensing body in the jurisdiction in which the individual is licensed as qualifying for full LPN/LVN licensure will be accepted as meeting the education requirements for VHA employment.
Must possess a full, active, current and unrestricted licensure as a licensed practical or vocational nurse in a State, Territory or Commonwealth of the United States, or District of Columbia.
BLS required.
One (1) year of LVN experience preferred.
Ambulatory Care experience preferred.
The incumbent must adhere to all safety standards, policies and procedures and must be able to perform all activities of the position without restriction.
The incumbent may be assigned to rotating tours, weekends and/or holidays.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
